Dianne began practicing 5 years ago and instantly loved the feeling Bikram yoga gave her after class. She originally started Bikram yoga to “tighten up some loose screws” and says she still has a few more to go! Her continued practice and desire to learn more about this yoga and share the experience with others led her to the Spring 2007 teacher training session. Since starting her practice, this has given her balance and better health. While it is the progression that is important, Dianne does have a favourite and least favourite posture. Half moon is definitely Dianne’s favourite. The deep stretch and lengthening creates a wonderful feeling. The posture that Dianne isn’t the biggest fan of is standing bow pulling. It is always a challenge to balance the kick, pull, flexibility, and concentration. Dianne’s classes are all about the dialogue. She believes that with a proper and strong dialogue the students will receive the maximum benefits while achieving proper form. While the dialogue is strong there is a balance of the delivery, it is more forceful when needed but also calm and encouraging elsewhere. Her number one yoga tip is to not think about it and just do it; over thinking a moment can often ruin it. Outside of yoga, Dianne enjoys filling her time with movies and good food. |
