Esther’s love affair with Bikram Yoga started in 2005 and eventually led her down the path to complete Teacher Training in Fall of 2006. Since then she has taught and continues to teach at various studios in the Lower Mainland. Esther has had the honour of being on staff with Bikram and Rajashree Choudhury, Emmy Cleaves and other senior teachers at the Teacher Training Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 sessions; an invaluable experience that deepened her knowledge and appreciation for the practice and the art of teaching Bikram yoga. She truly believes, "the role of a teacher is to uphold the highest and strongest vision of her students...until they can uphold it for themselves". Esther encourage you to come into each class with an open heart and an open mind, expect to work hard and to be challenged, prepare to empower and heal yourself... and to have some fun. She’ll be there to give you lots of love and some love 'nudges' along the way! Either as a counsellor or as a yoga teacher, Esther believes in practice over preaching, walking the talk and leading by example - expect to see her sweating right next to you, locking the knee! She practices everyday; it's physical and mental hygiene - it's that simple and that powerful. Outside of the hotroom, Esther is a counsellor specializing in addictions and mental health issues. It never ceases to amaze her how the two paths of healing (yoga and therapy) parallel and complement each other. “I love practicing this yoga. I believe in this yoga - and I love teaching this yoga!” |
