Hillary was introduced to Bikram yoga May 2008 and has been practicing ever since. This practice has given her confidence in herself and compassion towards others. It has also helped her to become a much stronger and flexible person, both mentally and physically. After practicing, she instantly knew that this was something she would continue with and that she would like to teach as well. In the Spring of 2009, Hillary went to teacher training and had the time of her life. She wasn’t planning on going to training so soon for financial reasons but after receiving an inheritance from her Aunt she decided that this was the right time to go. It was her Aunt who introduced her to yoga and Hillary is truly thankful for everything that she has given her.

Her favourite posture is Camel since it just makes you feel so good after. You feel opened refreshed with a rush of new emotions and energy. Hillary’s least favourite posture is the balancing stick – the 10 second lie. She always feels like the posture is held for way more than 10 seconds.

Hillary delivers a strong class with lots of energy. With her enthusiasm and encouragement, you may find yourself working harder than you expected. Some of her yoga tips are to drink lots of water before and after class, smile, breathe, and to not think. You should just listen to your instructor’s dialogue, focus, and completely surrender during savasana. Most importantly, Hillary advised everyone to just go to your yoga class, you will never regret going but will always regret not going.

When she isn’t filling her days with yoga, Hillary enjoys surrounding herself with art, music, singing, dancing, acting, and laughing.
