Jamie, who was born and raised in Montreal, started her love affair with Bikram yoga in 2005. After her fist class she instantly knew that Bikram yoga’s combination of strength, flexibility, balance, and mental focus would improve her life. With 6 months of dedicated practice, Jamie went to teacher training where her practice drastically changed and further proved to her that yoga really works. This has changed everything for Jamie giving her great physical and emotional strength, self confidence, and inner peace. Now dealing with the stress and struggle of daily life is almost effortless.

Jamie loves all the postures but her current favourite is standing bow- it’s graceful, beautiful, and demands a combination of strength, balance, and above all, determination. Her least favourite is rabbit pose since the constricted airflow and hunched over position is something that Jamie can find uncomfortable at times. Jamie wants to give back to gifts and benefits that she has received from yoga, help lead others towards self-love, inner peace, happiness, and the best version of themselves.

In class, Jamie gives lots of positive energy and exudes a love for the yoga. Her teaching style is very nurturing with her classes having a flow between postures and a strong focus on dialogue. She advised everyone to just show up for class, breathe, and be happy.

Outside of yoga Jamie’s interests include reading, ethnic cuisine, and spending time with her two beloved Chihuahuas, Jack and Tina Louise.
