Katie started practicing yoga in 2004 while she was studying Fine Arts at Emily Carr University. Even though, like most beginners, she found herself hating the heat, the yoga made her feel better than ever before. Katie became focused on getting her daily dose of yoga and after completing a 60 day challenge she was completely hooked! As soon as she finished her Bachelors of Fine Arts, she went down to LA for the Spring 2006 Teacher Training. Since completing training Katie has been teaching full time and has even returned to training to serve on staff during the Fall 2008 session in Acapulco, Mexico.

Her love of yoga sprouted from what she got out of it. Nothing has been so rewarding yet challenging at the same time that leaves you humbled, stronger, and more grounded. It was too difficult for Katie to pick a favourite posture as she says it’s hard to love just one without the others

Katie’s classes offer a strong and clean dialogue with lots of positive comments in between posture. She believes anyone can do this yoga and encourages you to let go of expectations and maintain a daily practice.

When she is not teaching or practicing, Katie enjoys art, design, eating organic foods and drinking strong Jamaican coffee.
